PRESIDENT’S WELCOME

Greetings Sorors, Community Partners, Friends, and Visitors!

You have landed on the official website of the Covington Area Alumnae Chapter (CAAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. The chapter was chartered on April 12, 2014, by seventy-five enthusiastic women who had a vision to transform individuals as well as communities in Newton and Walton Counties. Members work in a spirit of excellence to provide services through advocacy, awareness, mentorship, education, and social action.

I am honored and humbled to serve as the 5th President of the Covington Area Alumnae Chapter. Our goal is to Lead and Leave a Lasting Legacy in Newton and Walton Counties. We are making strides to expand our footprint and transform our community. To this end, we will focus our work for this 2024-2026 biennium under the theme “Refueling to Expand our Reach for a Greater Impact”. Our innovative and resolute members have established a firm foundation of programming.

They continue to raise the standard each year by planning, executing, and evaluating impactful programs and awarding college scholarships for our future leaders. We believe that Sisterhood, Scholarship, Service, and Social Action are means by which our 22 Founders endowed us to impact and transform. This biennium includes plans to elevate our programs and partnerships through strategic planning, civic engagement, and the power of sisterhood.

Join the movement; become an agent of change by partnering with CAAC on this journey of expansion and greater impact in Newton and Walton Counties. Explore our official website and follow us on our social media platforms for opportunities to partner with and support the Covington Area Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. programs and events. PRESIDENT’S WELCOME

Welcome to the Virtual Home of the Covington Area Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated!

It is my sincere pleasure to welcome you to our virtual home—a place where sisterhood, service, scholarship, leadership, and community come together with purpose.

As we begin this new biennium, we are embracing a vision that speaks to both who we are and who we aspire to become:

The Power of One: United in Purpose; Transforming Communities through Meaningful Relationships, Continuous Learning, and Shared Accountability!

We believe there is tremendous power in one—one sister who chooses to serve, one relationship that creates an opportunity, one lesson that inspires growth, one voice that advocates for change, and one collective commitment that transforms a community. When we unite our individual gifts, talents, experiences, and passions around a common purpose, the Power of One becomes the Power of Us.

Our commitment extends beyond what we do—it is also about how we engage with one another and with the communities we serve. Meaningful relationships are at the heart of lasting impact. We want to know our communities, listen to their needs, understand their aspirations, and build partnerships that create sustainable change. Our internal relationships as sisters are equally vital. When we strengthen our bonds of sisterhood, we strengthen our ability to lead, serve, and leave a lasting legacy.

We are committed to continuous learning because effective leadership and meaningful service require us to remain curious, informed, adaptable, and willing to grow. We will create opportunities for our members to develop their leadership capacity, expand their knowledge, share their expertise, and discover new ways to make a difference.

We embrace shared accountability because our success is not the responsibility of a few. Every member has a role to play. Every contribution matters. Every act of service adds value. Together, we will hold ourselves accountable for honoring our commitments, supporting one another, and ensuring that our chapter's work reflects the excellence and legacy of Delta Sigma Theta.

As Covington Area Alumnae moves forward, we invite our members, community partners, organizations, families, and friends to walk alongside us. Whether through educational initiatives, community service, youth development, scholarship, advocacy, leadership development, or meaningful partnerships, there is a place for everyone who believes in the power of service and the possibility of transformation.

Our goal is not simply to be remembered for what we accomplished during this biennium. We want to lead in a way that makes a lasting difference. We want to serve in ways that strengthen our communities. And we want to leave a legacy that inspires those who come after us.

Thank you for visiting our virtual home. We invite you to explore our website, learn more about our programs and initiatives, connect with us, and witness the impact of The Power of One in action.
